Madonna di Campiglio - Dolomites
Madonna di Campiglio, an alpine enchantment surrounded by majestic mountains and unspoiled landscapes. This tourist resort, located at 1,553 m a.s.l. in the province of Trento, is a true jewel of the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello and Presanella Alps. With its 822 inhabitants, Madonna di Campiglio is a popular destination for those who love nature and winter sports.
Part of the municipalities of Pinzolo and Tre Ville, Madonna di Campiglio is a renowned resort both in summer and winter. Its fame is due to the presence of numerous ski lifts, which allow alpine skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts to enjoy splendid descents and breathtaking views. In addition, this place is one of the main ski hubs nationwide, being part of the prestigious Skirama Dolomiti ski area.
To reach Madonna di Campiglio, you can take the picturesque Campiglio State Road 239, which connects Val di Sole to the Giudicarie Valleys through the enchanting alpine pass of Campo Carlo Magno.
Not far from the center, at about 1700 m a.s.l., is the characteristic village of Patascoss. This picturesque village is connected to the heart of Madonna di Campiglio thanks to the "3-Tre" slope or the ski lifts that are also active during the summer.
Madonna di Campiglio is the embodiment of mountain dreams, a place where adventure, relaxation and beauty blend harmoniously.
Campiglio, the pearl of winter sports in Italy, hosts the prestigious "3Tre" ski race, an event that dates back to 1949. This exceptional World Cup special slalom attracts fans to the slopes of Patascoss, in the splendid setting of the Canalone Miramonti and the FIS 3Tre. An unmissable event, set punctually for December 22nd.
But Campiglio is not just skiing. Here, every year, the Habsburg Carnival takes place, a cultural and tourist event that catapults us into the era of the great Emperor Franz Joseph. Historical costume, cultural meetings and conferences make us relive the magnificence of those times. And the "emperor's birthday" is dedicated to summer on August 18, when we find a splendid exhibition of period costumes.
In the summer, Campiglio is transformed into a lively cultural center with the "Mystery of the Mountains", a program full of meetings and conferences for culture and mountain enthusiasts.
The Madonna di Campiglio ski area is a skier's paradise and is perfectly connected with Folgarida, Marilleva and Campo Carlo Magno. Starting from the 2014/15 winter season, the connection with Pinzolo was inaugurated, offering snow lovers a unique experience. Together, they form the spectacular Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta Val di Sole Ski Area, which boasts a whopping 155 km of slopes and 59 ski lifts.
The 3-Tre slopes, better known as the "3 Races of Trentino", are a triumph of fame in the world of alpine skiing. These courses host the World Cup special slalom races, giving contenders an epic and adrenaline-pumping experience.
But it doesn't end there. There is also the legendary Spinale Direttissima, with its breathtaking slopes in the final part. This track is so extraordinary that even one of the greatest champions ever, Michael Schumacher, deserved the honor of having a section dedicated to him. Now, thanks to Schumacher, the route bears the name "Schumacher Streif".
These slopes are a symphony of adventure and challenge, offering an unforgettable experience for any daring skier who dares to challenge the mountain.
