In the heart of the majestic Sassolungo, stands the Friedrich August Refuge at Col Rodella, a work of mountain architecture perfectly integrated into the landscape of the Dolomites. Located between the beautiful Val Gardena and the picturesque Val di Fassa, in the Trentino Alto Adige region, this refuge offers an exceptional experience to all its guests.
Nestled on the Trentino side of the Sassolungo, this refuge offers a total of 28 beds. You can choose between comfortable private rooms with bathroom and all the necessary amenities, or typical Tyrolean rooms with shared bathrooms. To make your stay even more enjoyable, the refuge provides boot warmers, clothes dryers and dedicated areas to recharge e-bikes, ensuring maximum attention to your needs.
The structure also boasts a modern ski-room and a very comfortable private ski-lift that will take you directly to the ski slopes of the Dolomiti Superski, with 12 resorts and 1200 km of slopes, including the famous Sellaronda. Forget the annoying morning queues and enjoy your day of skiing to the fullest.
But that's not all. Our cuisine combines traditional flavours with a modern twist, offering delicious dishes from our organic Highlander farms. You will be able to delight your palate with unique delicacies and enjoy dishes that will leave you speechless.
For those who love adventure, the Friedrich August Hut offers the opportunity to explore breathtaking views thanks to its location at an altitude of 2300 meters. You can walk along the picturesque Friedrich August trail, which in about 2 hours will lead you to the enchanting Alpe di Siusi. If, on the other hand, you prefer a more demanding challenge, you can take on the Sassolungo tour, an adventure of about 5 hours that will leave you breathless. The majestic Dolomites await you for exciting climbs that will remain etched in your memory.

In our wonderful retreat, there are two ways to reach us during the summer. You can take the Campitello di Fassa cable car and then follow trail number 529 for 15 minutes, or you can opt for the Friedrich August trail from Passo Sella, where a leisurely 30-minute walk will bring you to us. During the winter, the Friedrich August trail becomes easily accessible via the Col Rodella ski slope, which you can reach either by cable car from Campitello di Fassa or by the Sassolungo and Des Alpes lifts from the Sella Pass. Don't worry about parking, our guests can leave their car in our convenient private parking (even if unattended) at Passo Sella, where our snowmobile service will take them directly to the refuge.
